Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Product Compliance is a people-first leader responsible for building, developing, and scaling a high-performing regulatory and product compliance team supporting Clark Associates’ product portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, this role combines strong regulatory expertise with a demonstrated ability to coach and grow individual contributors, establish clear ownership, and drive accountability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This position plays a critical role in guiding compliance strategy across sustainability frameworks, labeling, product claims, and eCommerce content, ensuring adherence to U.S. regulatory frameworks, including FTC advertising and substantiation requirements. The Senior Manager will lead the team through increasing complexity, supporting business objectives while strengthening team capability, consistency, and subject matter depth.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of regulatory and product compliance professionals, with a strong focus on individual growth, capability building, and career progression.
- Establish clear ownership, roles, and performance expectations by providing ongoing feedback, mentorship, and performance management.
- Build and scale team expertise in labeling, claims substantiation, FTC compliance, eCommerce regulatory requirements, and environmental and sustainability regulations.
- Oversee review and approval processes for product labeling, packaging, and eCommerce content, including product claims and digital advertising.
- Lead compliance with FTC advertising requirements, including claim substantiation and alignment with the Green Guides and similar guidance.
- Ensure labeling and claims are accurate and complete across diverse product categories, including durable goods and disposable products.
- Lead compliance strategy for disposable products, including single-use plastics, paper goods, and foodservice disposables.
- Conduct regulatory research and develop recommendations for environmental claims, including post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, recyclability, and compostability.
- In partnership with Legal, interpret and operationalize evolving and divergent state-level requirements.
- With the Legal department, manage overall compliance strategy across federal and state frameworks (FDA, FTC, EPA, CPSC), translating requirements into actionable business guidance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Sourcing, Quality, Legal, and Content teams to drive compliant product development, launches, and catalog maintenance.
- Develop and standardize processes, SOPs, and decision frameworks for labeling, claims substantiation, environmental claims, and compliance approvals to support scalable operations.

Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of regulatory affairs or product compliance experience, with a strong focus on labeling, product claims, and/or advertising compliance
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing high-performing teams
- Deep knowledge of FTC requirements related to advertising, claims substantiation, and eCommerce, with working knowledge of FDA, EPA, and CPSC regulations
- Familiarity with food service equipment and supplies
- Experience with environmental and sustainability regulations impacting paper, plastic, and similar products
- Experience supporting eCommerce product content, digital marketing, and online marketplaces
- Strong judgment and ability to navigate regulatory ambiguity and competing, and sometimes conflicting, state requirements
- Experience developing processes, SOPs, and scalable compliance frameworks in a growing organization
