Responsibilities
  • Determine the correct classification for imported goods by researching and interpreting the HTSUS schedules, customs rulings, General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), Explanatory Notes (EN), and applicable trade agreements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to cross-functional teams on import compliance matters, including tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin and marking, INCOTERMS®, Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, and supply chain security.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve import compliance standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and internal controls.
  • Conduct post-entry audits to verify the accuracy of import documentation, declarations, and customs data, and initiate corrective actions such as Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), Protests, Prior Disclosures, and other post-entry filings, as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve import compliance processes by streamlining workflows and implementing sustainable system and process enhancements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Partner with customs brokers, suppliers, and internal business teams to support and continuously improve Clark's import compliance program.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on import compliance requirements, customs regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor changes to U.S. Customs regulations and other applicable trade requirements, evaluate business impacts, and recommend appropriate process or policy updates.
  • Support Customs audits, Requests for Information (CF-28s), Notices of Action (CF-29s), and other government inquiries, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Import Compliance, Product Compliance, and Legal teams.
