This consistent, organic growth is why we have a need for a Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure that supports both our internal teams and the broader Clark Associates organization. You’ll collaborate with other departments to ensure secure, reliable connectivity and help guide best practices for network performance, scalability, and resiliency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and implement network infrastructure for new buildings and infrastructure updates.
  • Identify, test, and implement new technologies to enhance the network environment.
  • Estimate network needs and costs for current and future projects.
  • Participate in project planning for larger initiatives and provide higher-tier network support.
  • Install and configure network devices, systems, and cabling.
  • Configure and troubleshoot both site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
  • Perform ongoing network maintenance, including firmware and version upgrades.
  • Analyze network traffic to troubleshoot issues and improve performance.
  • Provide end-to-end network support for a large enterprise environment.
  • Deliver high-level IT support, assistance, and troubleshooting for complex network issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including network topology diagrams and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other teams to analyze and resolve application-related problems.
  • Mentor junior network engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Work Environment

  • While this is primarily a remote position, occasional travel to other facilities across the United States is required.
  • Some tasks may involve working from heights using ladders or lifts.

Qualifications

Experience

3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or a related field in addition to the following:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Check Point/Cisco Firewalls with corresponding management platforms.
  • Remote access solutions experience including Cisco AnyConnect.
  • Proficiency with Cisco and Dell switches, as well as Spanning Tree Protocols (RSTP, PVST, MSTP, R-PVST).
  • Experience with wireless networking, including configuration of Extreme APs and Meraki APs.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Familiarity with authentication and logging services: Syslog, TACACS, RADIUS, and SNMP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot foundational protocols including DNS, DHCP, and ARP.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a distribution or enterprise environment. 
  • Hands-on experience with Azure networking or cloud infrastructure. 
  • Experience with network automation and CI/CD.
