Job Summary
The Sales, Strategy, and Planning Intern with The Restaurant Store (TRS) will gain day-to-day sales and operations experience in a retail branch environment, contributing to the high-level service and satisfaction that exceeds customer expectations. The Retail Hospitality Intern will grow through developing effective customer service strategies that align with the goals of our sales and operational teams.

Responsibilities

- Conduct business-to-business sales and customer service with a focus on building and developing relationships with our customer base.
- Contribute to the successful process of our TRS flywheel: 1) hire great people, 2) exceed customer expectations, 3) build loyalty, 4) increase sales, and 5) invest in new markets.
- Perform foundational cashier functions and aid in loading products into customer vehicles.
- Improve general store maintenance through merchandising and operational functions, to include restocking shelves and putting away incoming stock.
- Analyze basic inventory information to assess product availability, order fulfillment, and replenishment status.
- Promote our private label brands to maximize TRS gross profit.
- Educate current and prospective customers on our three uniques (our people, flexible fulfillment, and best value).
- Generate a thorough understanding of our website and educate customers on how to best-utilize our “Brick and Click” business model.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
- Relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management preferred.
Education

- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and experience with CRM systems and project management tools.
