As the largest online distributor of restaurant supplies and equipment, WebstaurantStore offers an expansive catalog of over 430,000 products, delivered through fast, dependable shipping. Unlike many e-commerce companies, almost all of our technological design, development, and systems management is handled in-house, allowing us to create custom, scalable solutions in a rapidly evolving market.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a DevOps Software Engineer to join our Engineering Productivity team. This role will focus on enhancing the software development lifecycle through automation, CI/CD improvements, and infrastructure optimization.

Job Location

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and updates.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • Work with version control systems (Git preferred) and modern programming frameworks (C# .NET).
  • Provide technical leadership by researching and implementing DevOps best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Manage application lifecycle processes using Azure DevOps (build definitions, release pipelines, deployment pools, project configurations, feeds, dashboards).
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Write automation and infrastructure management scripts using PowerShell, Node/TypeScript, or Bash.
  • Utilize Docker for application containerization (Kubernetes experience is a plus).

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps-related roles.
  • Strong application development experience using TypeScript, C# .NET, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, security, and infrastructure automation (YAML pipelines a plus).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git preferred).
  • Proficiency in automated configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Ability to research, implement, and optimize DevOps tools and workflows.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Node/TypeScript, or Bash).
  • Experience working with Docker (Kubernetes experience is a plus).
