Job Summary
A Product Compliance Expert supports the company's compliance initiatives by bringing a deep understanding of product requirements for assigned product categories. This role works with Legal team members to interpret emerging regulations and leads products through the workflows that ensure regulatory adherence across product lines. This role serves as the go-to subject matter expert for key US regulatory programs and product certification schemes.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with Legal team to develop compliance strategy for assigned product categories.
- Set technical requirements and acceptance criteria that procurement, quality, and supplier teams can apply consistently.
- Monitor and assess the business impact of new and changing federal and state regulations and standards; work with Legal team to translate requirements into clear guidance and lead implementation before effective dates.
- Lead regulatory risk assessments across product categories, partnering with procurement, compliance, quality, and legal teams to prioritize risks and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Serve as the final technical reviewer for tasks such as test reports and regulatory submissions.
- Work within and continuously assess company-wide product compliance policies, procedures, and workflows, including documentation standards and approval processes.
- Support responses to regulatory inquiries from adjacent departments.
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and review the work of Product Compliance Specialists, fostering a culture of teamwork and technical excellence.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
- Expert-level knowledge of and hands-on application experience with US regulatory programs (e.g., FDA 21 CFR, CPSC 16 CFR, EPA TSCA VI, DOE 10 CFR)
- Strong working knowledge of state-level requirements such as California Proposition 65 and state PFAS and chemical restriction laws.
- Proven track record of managing compliance risk across multiple product categories and driving regulatory changes through to implementation.
