Job Summary
The Merchandising Analyst 2 is a developing analyst who independently manages category reporting and contributes analytical insights to support merchandising decisions. This role shifts from execution and support to ownership and influence — translating data into clear recommendations, demonstrating a proven track record of impact on margin, growth, or efficiency, and operating with a higher degree of independence.

Responsibilities
- Independently evaluates quotes, sourcing scenarios, and market conditions to recommend sourcing adjustments and support stronger category outcomes
- Leads trend, category, customer, and competitive analysis; synthesizes implications for assortment, pricing, innovation, efficiency, and differentiation
- Prepares full negotiation support packages for leadership, including performance trends, cost drivers, scenarios, risks, and data-backed recommendations
- Owns execution of select vendor initiatives such as new item adds, resourcing, quality improvement, testing, costing, and timing, with supplier communication within defined scope
- Tracks initiative outcomes against goals, reports results to merchants and cross-functional partners, and recommends adjustments to improve performance
- Analyzes vendor profitability, pricing actions, margin trends, and cost-to-serve drivers to identify systemic issues and propose solutions for channel alignment
- Synthesizes multiple data sources into meaningful insights and recommendations that inform category strategies and influence merchant decision-making
- Proactively partners with Web Content, UX, suppliers, and internal teams to identify customer experience opportunities, execute improvements, track results, and ensure launches align with brand strategy
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
- 2–4 years in merchandising, category management, or eCommerce related functions
- Demonstrated track record of impact on margin, growth, or efficiency
